DRUMS AND PERCUSSION. Josh Morgan. (wird übersetzt)
Josh first became involved in drums when his music teacher attempted to
teach his 9th year class drums and percussion. He became increasingly
interested in the instrument having failed miserably in his first
attempt of playing, though his determination pushed him a little
further when he requested a bit of teaching from his big brother. He
finally persuaded Billy to show him the basics, and he did so at
lunchtime in school.
Josh became so involved in drums, purely because he was able to vent
and exert all the aggression he usually managed to contain. He decided
that he wanted a set for himself. Having confronted his parents with
this expensive dream, they all agreed on buying his first drum kit... a
little 4 pad electrical Yamaha set. Considering the fact that Josh's
cupboard already consisted of a 200 quid guitar, his expensive swimming
gear and many other items that have been in his trial and error regime
in the past, a full drum kit may not have been suitable just yet. But
after hard practice in lunchtimes at school (on a real kit) he became
increasingly fluent. His parents noticed this at home when playing his
electrical kit. After 6 long months he got his first real kit, the big
bastard of a Pearl Export....a 7 piece monster!
He formed Mustardseed with Billy, Charlotte and a school friend....
school friend left... Then platypus was born. He found a new image. A
heavy steel 15 year old kit. He was also strongly influenced by
'Animal' from the Muppets. With his head swinging and a 4 piece kit
with a metal 16" rack-tom and an 18" floor tom (BIG) he continues to
play and help Billy write the structure of songs for Platypus.....and
so the age of innocence is over.
For acoustic sets Josh also plays the bongo's and quite often plays the guitar along with Billy and Charlotte.
